Look, everyone! Sunlight! (Rainbows optional.)

It's spring, and we've started laying in industrial quantities of SPF50 and begun to get cracking on plans for summer Pride and club events around the UK.

We're currently active in London, Leeds, Brighton and Southampton, with more volunteers, beneficiaries and organisers around the UK, as well as elsewhere in the world.

Thanks to some generous donations, including from East Coast Trains, and the runaway success of The Dark Market in Southampton, we've almost reached our fundraising goal for the year (we're aiming at just over £2,000).

The big conversation right now is how to best use those funds to serve everyone in our communities, as opposed to our previously somewhat London-centric approach. That's going to be a major topic at our organisers' meeting next week, which is currently set to be the biggest and most ambitious yet.

2016 is our second year as a small charity trust, and in keeping with one of our founding commitments, we're going to be trying to turn over some of our trustees to introduce fresh blood and new ideas to the running of TQA.

We currently have plans to participate in Pride events in London, Brighton and Leeds (TBC), and are making plans for club and gig nights, including a special event to be held on 4 June at London's Electowerkz, featuring three goth and alternative bands.

Above all else, and as ever, we want to hear from you, the people we're working for, about everything from events, to organising, to representation on the board. If you have an opinion, want to see something new, or want to get involved, please email us at admin@queeralternative.com, get involved in our Facebook chat group or contact us via Facebook and Twitter.
